Basic House History includes:
- Putting your house into context – a summary of your locality’s history
- Maps – copies of selected maps. Historical photographs will be included if available.
- Your house’s timeline – which will include the approximate (or exact, if known) date of construction and list of previous occupants
- List of sources used – which will include maps and Tithe maps, census returns (1841-1911), street directories, rate books, Land Tax assessments and deeds (as appropriate and all subject to availability)
- Future research – suggestions to extend your knowledge of your house and its occupants
Detailed House History includes:
- Introduction and timeline – a summary of your house’s history
- Putting your house into context – the historical development of your locality and the site of your house
- Maps – copies of available maps. Historical photographs will be included if available.
- The house – an approximate (or exact, if known) date of construction and details of original architectural features
- The occupants – lists of previous occupants and their social history
- List of sources – which will include maps and Tithe maps, census returns (1841-1911), street directories, rate books, Land Tax assessments, deeds, wills, parish records, estate records (where applicable and all subject to availability)
- Bibliography
